The patcher has been on and off a for a week or so with some minor issues they are working on. For those trying to log onto raids and having a hard time there is a way to get to your login screen without going through the patcher. Obviously anything important that needs to be patched like major updates, etc it is probably best that you patch but in the event it is down or you are on an extremely slow connection to have to download some 2 hour LoN patch on dial up you can use the next procedure to help. Also if you are trying to load two EQ accounts out of the same directory on the same Computer this will in most cases fix any errors that come up with trying to patch the second account you are loading up. Anyways here is what to do.

  • Find the EQ icon on your desktop
  • Right click the icon and select copy, and then paste the copy to your desktop
    • Right click the new icon on your desktop, and then select rename and change it to EQ No Patch
    • Right click the new icon once again and select properties now
      • You will find a line that says Target, under which there is something that will look like this

              ProgramFiles\Sony\Everquest\Everquest.exe"
        • You now want to change the path of the Target to this

                xxxxxx\xxxxxx\xxxxx\xxxxxxx\eqgame.exe" patchme

do not change any of the beginning part of the path, you are simply removing Everquest.exe" and replacing with eqgame.exe" patchme

Also please note there is a space between the quote and patchme in the above line it must be there to work properly

          • When complete it should look something like this

                    ProgramFiles\Sony\Everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme

          • You now can close the properties window for the icon, and begin to use this icon when you want to run Everquest without needing to use the patcher

Hope it helps or at least adds to the tools you might can use if you run into slight problems. Enjoy!!
