NOTE: YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY DEPENDING ON WHAT VENDORS YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY VISITED/BOOKS YOU HAVE SCRIBED/RECIPES YOU HAVE LEARNED, ETC.
Before you being your quest to reach 350 tradeskills in EverQuest, you will want to find and scribe as many books as possible If you learn all the books below, it should give you all the recipes currently obtainable by scribing books. I will do my best to keep this post updated over time.
- Visit Scribe Zikett in PoK by the small bank, and stop by Blacksmith Gerta and Tailor Kujen afterwards to check for other missing books. Its also wise to check the tradeskill sellers in the exterior room just off of the entrance to the library. Be sure to stop by and see Borik Darkanvil (he's on find) as he appears to carry 2 books not available elsewhere. For the sake of completion, you may also wish to stop by Culturist Devari and purchase any missing books.
- Go to Argath, and check Bookseller Shoden's inventory for unscribed books. While the bookseller is not on find, you can use find to go to Yaun who is standing near him.
- Visit Abysmal Sea and hit up these merchants: (note: dont skip the tinkering because you dont think it applies to you)
- a tradeskill armor historian
- a cultural tinkering historian
- a cultural tailoring historian
- a cultural smithing historian
- a cultural discoveries historian
- Detour #1:
- While you are in Abysmal Sea, go ahead and hit up the quest givers and either grab the freebie quest recipes if you have never done these quests years ago or say "recipes" if you've done them years ago but didn't get credit for the recipes. A quick test to see if you have done these quests previously is to put an unrefined item (ex: taelosian wheat) into the associated tradeskill container by itself and combine. If it refines (ex: taelosian flour), then you are good to just say "recipes" to the quest giver and you will learn all of the recipes associated with that skill's quest. You will need to repeat this process for each tradeskill.
- Visit Crescent Reach and hit up these merchants: (note: dont skip the tinkering because you dont think it applies to you) I think these are duplicates of Abysmal but the other person i was doing this with had a few books missing, so not 100%

- While you are in Crescent Reach, go ahead and hit up the quest givers and grab the freebie quest recipes if you have already done these quests years ago but didn't get credit for the recipes.
- Visit Katta Castrium: Deluge and hit up Artisan Antemm. I didn't get anything off of this guy but you might - i dont know if he duplicates previous vendors we've already hit or i had just bought them previously.
- Go to Plane of Tranquility. See Aelisian Taliz.
- Go to Shard's Landing and check out Craftkeeper Bobus Tindlefoot. He offered me nothing new, but again its hard to tell without visiting it yourself.
- Go to Thulisaar Island and get the Thaell Ew book from Armorer Xochtli (Note: This requires faction, etc.). This faction is very easy to come by as it is storebought, so don't let that deter you. Simply hand in stacks of "loaf of bread" from a Thaell Ew haggler in the zone to any chef type mob in the temples. You can also hand in any ore to the armorer types.
- Go to Brell's Rest, and find Useful Automated Vendor (next to Shining City entrance). Check all of his items, but in particular you'll want these two:
- Black Acrylia Weapon Ornament Sketchbook
- Ceramic Weapon Ornament Sketchbook
- On Quivering
- Stop by Sunrise Hills, and visit Garik Nogflop. He has two scribable books.Travel to Demiplane of Decay. While it will not assist you in your journey to 350, for the sake of completeness, you will want to buy the book, The Lost Art of Working with Wither and Decay, available from the Seller of Salvaged Souls.
- There are also standalone tradeskill books you will want to make sure you have scribed:
Some of the books listed here won't technically assist you in reaching 350, as they must be scribed before you can make the recipe combines, however, this will save you some time and trouble and potential grief in tracking these recipes down later in your quest to 350.
If you notice any books that are missing or corrections please email me!
Comments
Quincy does carry books but all of his books should be available on vendors in PoK. If you find any that that is not true, please let me know!
Added, since that is the only place it appears to be sold.
Otherwise, a great resource.
